The Disney Magic: All You Need To Know

Well, here we are on the last of the 4 current cruise ships sailing with the Disney Cruise Line – The Disney Magic.  It’s funny that we ended our Disney Cruise chat with the original cruise ship, the beloved Disney Magic.

On July 30, 1998, the first voyage of Magic set sail too much fanfare. Still to this day – nearly 25 years later it remains a popular choice among cruise loyalists.  It will always have a special place in my heart and should be at the top of your list for your next magical vacation.

Although this is the last submission to our Disney Cruise guide, you may be joining us for the first time – Welcome! Please allow me to give you a brief overview of what we’ve disccussed thus far. If you are a returning reader, please accept my sincere apologies for the repeat of information – feel free to scroll down to get right into all the goodness that is the Disney Magic.

Disney Cruise Line is loved by many people all over the world. There are lots of other cruise lines but non come close to the level of service you receive onboard the Disney Cruiseline.

When it comes to planning a Disney Cruise, things can get a bit confusing. Where should you sail? What are the best ports? What time of year should you sail? Are the speciality Disney cruises worth it? That’s the whole reason I decided to write this guide

If you’re looking ahead to the future to plan a vacation with Disney Cruise Line, there is a lot that can be confusing! Where should you sail? What ship should you sail on? We get it, we’ve been there.  So we’ve put together a quick guide to the Disney Cruise Line Ships to help you!

Currently, there are four gorgeous ships in their fleet with a fifth ship making its inaugural voyage later this year.  Each shihas its own signature style and allure. In this guide, you will get to know more about each Disney Cruise ship to help you decide which one you should choose for your next magical vacation.

The four Disney Cruise ships currently in rotation are the Disney Magic, Disney Wonder, Disney Dream and the Disney Fantasy. As I mentioned earlier, the Disney Wish will make its grand debut later this year. Each of these ships offer their own unqiue experience both onboard and at their specific ports of call.

The Ultimate Guide To The Disney  Magic

The Disney Magic is the original ship of Disney ‘s fleet, but do not let that deter you experiencing this gorgeous vessel. Rest assured that this gorgeous ship has been rennovated and reimagined many times over since its inception in 1998. In comparsion the the other ships in Disney’s fleet, the Magic is on the smaller side with 877 stateroom and a max capcity of 2700.

Very much like the Dream and Fantasy, the Magic is the sister ship to the Wonder  with many design and anemity similiarties. With the size being significantly smaller than its counterparts it makes for a very welcoming feeling onboard. The crew learns your name and your needs all that much sooner.  If you are a first time cruiser the smaller ships are a great way to introduce yourself to cruisiing without overwhelming yourself with the size and stature of the larger ships.

Everyone’s burning question now that we are well into our third Disney cruise guide – what character can you find in the Atrium of the Disney Magic? Considering the Magic is the first of all Disney ships it can only be the one and only Mickey Mouse! Mickey’s pal Goofy sits atop of the Stern with the silliest of grins.

If you are one for thrills then you must take a spin on the AquaDunk – Disney’s high speed water coaster.

DISNEY MAGIC RESTAURANTS

The Disney Magic may be the oldest ship, but it’s home to one of the newest, most delicious restaraunts at sea – Rapuznel’s Royal Table. Your meal at Rapunzel’s Royal Table also includes a rather fun interactive show! Rounding out the rotational dining experience onboard the Magic you will get to enjoy Animator’s Palate and Lumiere’s.

Palo can also be found onboard the Disney Magic if you are looking for an adults-only dining experience. This does require advanced reservations and an additional fee.

Your casual dining options on the Magic include Cabanas,Cove Cafe, Duck In Diner, Pinocchio’s Pizzeria,  and Frozone Treats. As always, room service is also available 24 hours a day!

DISNEY MAGIC ENTERTAINMENT

If you a Tangled fan – the Disney Magic is a MUST. We’ve already discussed the beautifully themed dining experience at Rapunzel’s Royal Table and now you can follow that up with a night out at Tangled: The Musical. Twice Charmed and Disney Dreams are also two must see shows you can only find on the Disney Magic.

WHERE DOES THE DISNEY MAGIC SAIL?

The Ports of Call change from year to year so always refer to the Disney website for the latest information. For 2022, you can experience a Bahamian, Western Caribbean or a European cruise onboard the Disney Magic. Also note, that there are several different cities where the Magic sets sail from this year including Miami, New York City and a couple of European cities – making it one of the more excessible Disney crusies.
