The Ultimate Guide To Disney World’s Special Events

A trip to Disney World is magical on its own, but did you know that there are several special events that take place at the parks all year round? These events help add to the excitement. Here’s a month-by-month guide to all the things happening at Walt Disney World this year. Be sure to bookmark this page as starting dates become available.

All the dates below are for 2022

Disney World’s 50th Anniversary continues through April 2023.

January 

January 5-9th: Walt Disney World Marathon Weekend. There are several running events that take place over the course of the weekend.

January 7 – February 21st – Festival of the Arts:  This is a gorgeous celebration at Epcot that celebrates art and culinary masterpieces. There are several food booths throughout the world showcase that offer a wide sampling of deliciousness making this one of the tastier events of the year. Be sure to check out Disney’s official site for an up to date scheudle of events.

February

February 24-27th- Disney’s Princess Half Marathon Wekeend

Festival of the Arts continues through February 21st

March

March 2 – July 4- March brings one of the biggest festivals of the year to Epcot – The Flower and Garden Fesitval. This beautiful festival features over two dozen Disney inspired topiary dispalys and gorgeous and lush landscapred that help transfom Epcot into a floral dream. We once again see an array of festival food booths, concerts and special events.

July 4th Fireworks Spectacular – Magic Kindgom

August

Early August (Date TBD) Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival. One of the biggest events of the year starts in early August and goes through mid November. This event features culinary special events, information sessions, beverage demos,  visits from celebrity chefs and more food than you can imagine. This is easily one of the highlights of the year at Epcot.

Disney’s Boo Bash – August also finds the start of Magic Kingdoms special Halloween events. In 2021, it ran from August 10- October 31st. If you love Halloween this event is not to be missed.

This is month Disney World is transformed into a Christmas wonderland. Each park, hotel and event space is decorated in Disney’s holiday best. There are plenty of special events to help you get in the holiday spirit.

The Food and Wine Festival continues

Epcot International Festival of the Holidays begins in mid November.

Early November starts Disney Very Merriest After Hours at Magic Kindgom

The Christmas fun continues throughout all the Disney parks.
